China's Bao takes gold at fencing Grand Prix Moscow leg

MOSCOW, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- China's Bao Yingying grabbed the gold medal in the women's saber individual event on Monday at the Moscow leg of the International Fencing Federation Grand Prix.

Bao played against two-time Olympic Champion Mariel Zagunis of wholesale colthing the United States in Monday's final.

The two tied at 8-8 in the first half of the game. After making it 9-9, Bao scored five points in a row and defeated Zagunis 15-10 in the end.

Bao told reporters that the secret of her victory was to keep herself relaxed.

The Chinese quartet of Bao, Chen Xiaodong, Li Fei and Ni Hong will face Kazakhstan in the women's saber team event on Tuesday. They will take on the winner between Italy and Canada in the quarterfinal if they enter the top eight.

The Moscow leg of the Grand Prix, which kicked off on Friday and will last through Tuesday, drew more than pandora charms 200 fencers from 25 countries and regions. China sent seven male fencers and eight female fencers to the tournament.
